8. Sample answer Source D is suggesting that the New Deal has changed the face of the USA. The New Deal has provided good housing and job security. There is a clear path leading to these results. Source E suggests that the New Deal constantly requires more money. It is wasteful, and hurts the taxpayer. All the enemies of the government disappear in keeping the reforms going, without achieving real results. The the 2 sources disagree. One is very pro-Roosevelt. The other is ant-New Deal. Examiners comments This answer provides a clear comparison based on an understanding of each cartoon. It would gain a mark within Level 3.

Hoover did nothing to help the farmers: ‘Rugged Individualism.’ No mention of ‘Overproduction’ in farm production & impact on prices. No Mention of farmers going bankrupt & becoming homeless because they couldn't pay off mortgage.
