15. April 27, 2011 Independence Tube Decatur was struck by an EF-5 tornado. Fortunately no one was injured but the building was a total loss. While being re-built, the mill was modified to manufacture 16”OD. When we opened one year later, the popularity of the 14”OD and 16”OD forced us to look for alternatives to manufacture the small size range of 4”SQ and under.

Trinity, Alabama Located on 80 acres, just 7 miles from our Decatur Division, Trinity’s new greenfield facility allowed us to expand our product offerings to include ASTM A53 Grade B Type E Standard Pipe. Trinity’s size range in A53 Standard Pipe is: 2”NPS – 8”NPSSchedule 40 Schedule 80 through 4”NPS

17. State of the Art Facility Coil is received And is slit to the desired width

18. State of the Art Facility Slit coil stored by size, gauge & heat for production Coils are manufactured into pipe by the ERW method to the OD needed for finishing line.

19. State of the Art Facility Pipe is then straightened and both ends beveled,

21. State of the Art Facility Drying conveyor prior to packaging. Automated packaging put the pipe into standard bundle configurations.
