2 FORWARD | 2016 Role Centers in NAV Less clutter, quicker access to more information. A quick overview of business performance via Cues or charts. Live data that the user can drill into to see details. User can prioritize what to work on first and makes it easy to start frequent tasks. So much more than just a link to menu items. Role is assigned to a user based on their job description. Users can personalize their settings based on their work habits. The Role Center is the user’s personal home page.

3 FORWARD | 2016 Role Center Elements Navigation, Search and the Ribbon Navigation Pane Use to open list places. From a list place you can open individual cards or documents. Can contain custom-made menus. Search You can find any page, report or view in NAV by typing what you are looking for in the Search field. The Ribbon Promotes those commands you use most frequently. UI removal tool Eliminates elements if they are not part of your license or your permissions.

4 FORWARD | 2016 Role Center Elements - Customizing Select the right Role center for your position then further customize your role center for how you work Only showing those cues vital to your job. Remove any web parts that distract or do not add to your efficiency. Add available web parts designed as key indicators for your process flow.

5 FORWARD | 2016 Role Center Elements - Activities Activities Cue stacks display the number of documents that match a specific criteria Cue Stacks can be filtered; currently we have some roles filtered based on the user’s Salesperson/PM code Simply click on the stack to open up a list of those documents

6 FORWARD | 2016 Role Center Elements - Activities Activities Threshold color indicator settings can alert users to urgent issues. Custom cue stacks can be created including calculated fields and icons. Calculated values.

7 FORWARD | 2016 Role Center Elements – Generic Charts Create charts to represent Key Performance Indicators important to your business. Add these charts to Fact Boxes and Role Centers.

8 FORWARD | 2016 Role Center Elements – List Charts List charts can be created from any list: Select the filters you want to use. Save as a view to your role center. Hit “Show as Chart” and select your dimensions and measures to transform your list to a visual KPI.

9 FORWARD | 2016 Role Center Elements – Specific Charts Specific charts are predefined in the base and show in certain Role Centers. Finance Performance chart can be based on your defined account schedule layouts. Once you have the chart part added you can move from chart to chart and change the Period length. Trailing Sales Orders chart is not modifiable for its content but contains various options to how you see the data: By number of orders or amount Period length Chart type

10 FORWARD | 2016 Role Center Elements - Alerts Alerts Receive important information regarding business issues. Click the hyperlink in the message to bring you directly to the document that needs attention. Shadow Alerts Allows managers/others to view alerts that an employee receives. If you are not using them, you should be!

11 FORWARD | 2016 Role Center Elements – Notifications Extra information about a customer that does not fit the fields on a customer page can be written in a note. Project Manager can notify Purchasing of an urgent change in material needs. Purchaser can notify the PM regarding info about late material. Attach a comment or instruction to any record in NAV and send a notification to yourself or a colleague to take action. Have the note appear as a notification on your role center or on a colleague’s role center. Can open the NAV document by double clicking on the notification.

12 FORWARD | 2016 Role Center Elements – Report Inbox Great report scheduling tool so the end user can continue to work without stopping and waiting for a report to run. Can print to pdf, Word, Excel or a standard printer. The report runs on the server through a job queue, not on the workstation. Select a report to print then click Schedule. Fill in the fields and click OK. The scheduler can be a one time print or a report can be set to run through a Job Queue on a recurring basis. View the report from the inbox page part on the Role Center.

13 FORWARD | 2016 Your suggestions go a long way Now that you know how a Role Center can be used, what would you like to see on your Role Centers to make your users’ experience cleaner with quicker access to information? We value your feedback whether you have ideas now or when you return to your office. We will evaluate everyone’s feedback. It is possible that your Role Center idea may be placed in a future release. Features you need may already exist, just may not be in use in your database. You may decide you would like us to work with you to develop customer Role Centers.
