What does congruent mean? Congruent means that two things are the same shape and the same size. Congruent Triangles have the sides that are the same length and angles that are the same measure.

Congruence Rules. There are 4 Rules for Congruent Triangles: 1.Side-Side-Side (SSS) 2.Side-Angle-Side (SAS) 3.Angle-Angle-Side (AAS) 4.Angle-Side-Angle (ASA)

Side-Side-Side (SSS) If three sides of one triangle are equal to three sides of another triangle, then the triangles are congruent.

Side-Angle-Side (SAS) If two sides and the included angle of one triangle are equal to two sides and included angle of another triangle, then the triangles are congruent. Included Angle Non-included angle

Angle-Angle-Side (AAS) If two angles and a non-included side of one triangle are equal to two angles and a non- included side of another triangle, then the triangles are congruent.

Angle-Side-Angle (ASA) If two angles and the included side of one triangle are equal to two angles and included side of another triangle, then the triangles are congruent
