2 History & Politics in London British Museum The British Museum collection, which numbers more than seven million objects, is amongst the largest and most comprehensive in the world. Pieces originate from all continents, illustrating and documenting the story of human culture from its beginnings to the present. With so much to see itinerary’s can be suggested depending on areas of interest and time that you have to spend within the museum.

3 History & Politics in London Houses of Parliament A visit to parliament offers a variety of different programmes and events. Guided tours take visitors into both the Commons and Lords chambers and historic Westminster Hall. Separate tours up the Clock Tower - more popularly known as Big Ben - can also be arranged. Visitors can also attend debates in both Houses and watch committee hearings.

4 History & Politics in London Cabinet War Rooms On becoming Prime Minister in May 1940, Winston Churchill visited the underground War Cabinet Room and said, 'This is a room from which I will direct the war'. The Cabinet War Rooms sheltered the heart of British military and government command throughout the Second World War, before being sealed in August 1945. You can now tour them and experience this unique historical site

5 History & Politics in London Bank of England The visit begins with a film on the UK’s key financial institution, giving a broad overview of the Bank’s role and the subsequent question and answer session gives students the opportunity to expand topics covered in the film. Groups are also encouraged to visit the Bank of England Museum with its collection of gold bars, coins, notes and award winning interactive systems.

6 History & Politics in London Tower Bridge During your visit you can enjoy breath taking views from the high level walkways and learn about the history of the Bridge and how it was built. Presentations are made by a member of the Tower Bridge team, followed by the opportunity to visit the exhibition. The session lasts 45 minutes and covers marketing & business plans, promotions and advertising, plus working with and controlling budgets.
