1. The Lorax and the Industrial Revolution (Age of Jackson) Today you will need the Connections handout. Tomorrow you will create your poster.
The classic Dr. Seuss story The Lorax has many connections to the Industrial Revolution and the Age of Jackson.  Watch the animated version of this story and identify as many parallels (items in common) as you can between the story and what you have learned about the Industrial Revolution and the Age of Jackson. In the past, students have discovered more than 35 connections between the Lorax and what they learned during the Age of Jackson.
You will use your notes to create a poster (paper provided) illustrating the parallels you discovered in the story (compare and contrast) and what you have learned about the Industrial Revolution. Write your name on the back. You are to be creative, colorful, informative and NEAT!!!
This assignment will count as an exam grade.

8. Rubric
To receive a 100 your poster must be Colorful, Creative, and Neat.
You must use the entire poster.
Your name must be on the back of your poster.
Your Connections must be listed neatly on the back of your poster. Remember to number each Connection. Do not use a Connection more than once.
Your poster must have the title neatly at the top:
The Lorax and The Industrial Revolution.
30 more Connections: 95
25 – 29 Connections: 90
20 – 24 Connections: 85
15 – 19 Connections: 80
10 – 14 Connections: 75
You must make at least 10 Connections or you will receive a 50
I must be able to understand the connections. On the back of the poster, you must list the connections you discovered between the Lorax and the Age of Jackson. Remember to number each Connection.
