What gases create the Greenhouse Effect? Water vapor – we live on a wet planet Carbon dioxide – living things breathe it out, comes from burning fossil fuels Methane – natural gas, released from rotting material Nitrous oxide – pollution from use of engines and motors, laughing gas Ozone – found in the atmosphere naturally as well as released from burning fossil fuels
