2 1 Thessalonians 4:1 As for other matters, brothers and sisters, we instructed you how to live in order to please God, as in fact you are living. Now we ask you and urge you in the Lord Jesus to do this more and more.

3 1 Thessalonians 4:2 For you know what instructions we gave you by the authority of the Lord Jesus.

4 1 Thessalonians 4:3 It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality;

5 1 Thessalonians 4:4-5 that each of you should learn to control your own body in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust like the pagans, who do not know God;

6 1 Thessalonians 4:6 and that in this matter no one should wrong or take advantage of a brother or sister. The Lord will punish all those who commit such sins, as we told you and warned you before.

7 1 Thessalonians 4:7 For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life.

8 1 Thessalonians 4:8 Therefore, anyone who rejects this instruction does not reject a human being but God, the very God who gives you his Holy Spirit.

9 1 Thessalonians 4:9 Now about your love for one another we do not need to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love each other.

10 1 Thessalonians 4:10 And in fact, you do love all of God’s family throughout Macedonia. Yet we urge you, brothers and sisters, to do so more and more,

11 1 Thessalonians 4:11 and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you,

12 1 Thessalonians 4:12 so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.

13 Who Are You Living to Please?

14

15 Luke 9:25 What good is it for someone to gain the whole world and yet lose or forfeit their very self?

16

17 1 Thessalonians 4:2 For you know what instructions we gave you by the authority of the Lord Jesus.

18 It is God’s will that you should be sanctified.
1 Thessalonians 4:3 It is God’s will that you should be sanctified.

19 1 Thessalonians 4:3 It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality;

20 God values people, relationships, and sex and the reason why sex outside of marriage is sin is because it does not value these things highly enough.

21 This is now bone of my bones
and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.

22 That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.

23 We have prostitutes for the sake of pleasure; we have concubines for the sake of daily cohabitation; we have wives for the purpose of having children legitimately, and of having a faithful guardian for all our household affairs. - Demosthenes

24 1 Thessalonians 4:4-5 that each of you should learn to control your own body in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust like the pagans, who do not know God;

25 1 Thessalonians 4:6 and that in this matter no one should wrong or take advantage of a brother or sister. The Lord will punish all those who commit such sins, as we told you and warned you before.

26 1 Thessalonians 4:7 For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life.

27 1 Thessalonians 4:8 Therefore, anyone who rejects this instruction does not reject a human being but God, the very God who gives you his Holy Spirit.

28 1 Thessalonians 4:9-10 Now about your love for one another we do not need to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love each other. And in fact, you do love all of God’s family throughout Macedonia.

29 1 Thessalonians 4:10 And in fact, you do love all of God’s family throughout Macedonia. Yet we urge you, brothers and sisters, to do so more and more,

30 “Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as you ever can.” – John Wesley

31 Philippians 2:12-13 Continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose

32 1 John 3:16-18 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.

33 1 John 3:16-18 If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?

34 1 John 3:16-18 Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.

35 1 Thessalonians 4:11 and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you,

36 1 Thessalonians 4:12 so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.

37 1 Corinthians 5:9 I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people—

38 1 Corinthians 5:10 not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world.

39 1 Corinthians 5:11 But now I am writing to you that you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler.

40 1 Corinthians 5:12 What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? God will judge those outside.

41

42 1 Thessalonians 4:1 Now we ask you and urge you in the Lord Jesus to do this more and more.
