Gartner, Feb 2013: IT flexibility demands Timely deployment of applications, system upgrades, security and compliance is critical to keeping up with fast IT changes. 3 – IT flexibility is one of the main drivers pushing enterprises towards the cloud, according to the Financial Times, Gartner, EMC and Accenture. Financial Times, Jan 2014: Cost efficiency Cloud helps the bottom line: dropping the level of investment in hardware, software and infrastructure, and transforming risky cap-ex into manageable op-ex. 4 – Cost Efficiency and innovation are cited as the top drivers for enterprise cloud adoption, with 40% of global buyers of cloud applications indicating that overall cost reduction is the main reason for cloud adoption, according to Gartner in June 2014, quoted in Information Age in November 2014: Market consolidation Consolidation through mergers and acquisitions is a major trend in many industries. A central goal of most mergers has been to improve investment returns through cost cutting, productivity gains, and economies of scale. © Copyright 2015 Vodafone.
