3 1. soak sth in sth to make something completely wet if you soak something, or if you let it soak, you keep it covered with a liquid for a period of time, especially in order to make it softer or easier to clean

4 Example A: How do I clean my pants. They’re so dirty. B: Soak your pants in cold water and wash them later.

5 1. sb’s fingers soaking in stuff Manicure: a treatment for the hands that includes cutting and polishing the nails [ ↪ pedicure]

6 Example A: Where’re you going? B: I’m going to a beauty salon. I’m gonna sit around with my fingers soaking in stuff
