4 Objectives of GoNorth! To increase awareness of circumpolar issues to people living outside the region To strengthen and promote northern education institutions in their role as major providers of knowledge about the North. To promote the circumpolar region within Europe and beyond as a destination for higher education.

6 Kick-off meeting in Tromsø, Nov 2005 Establishment of Steering Committee and Working Teams Internal Strategy Document based on SWOT analysis from the 12 project partners Marketing Strategy, externally reviewed Development of graphic design for marketing material (logo, letterhead, website, brochure, poster/rollups, t-shirts, antistress snowballs businesscards, paper clips, stickers) 1 st Progress meeting in Bodø, June 2006 Marketing material proposals approved Project events and doings (chronological order)

7 Production of marketing material, summer 2006 Promotion of project at EAIE 2006, Basel, Sept 06 Very successful Mid-project report to the European Commission by Nov 1 st 2006, approval of continuation 2 nd Progress meeting in Roskilde, Nov 06 New ideas for NAFSA, graduate area, online catalog 3rd Progress meeting in Minneapolis, May 07 Decision to change focus from student mobility program to a marketing and recruitment program, Future Action Plan Cont.

Future Action Plan draft finalised Dec 07 The external project reviewer (a specialist in international education and marketing/recruitment) has given input and advice and “approved” the plan Cont. 2.
