3 All 3 of these images are of dragons, but where they came from and their uses are very different. Think/Pair/Share: Discuss these pictures with your partner. What do you think they can tell us about the people who made it and why they made it? ACTIVATING PRIOR KNOWLEDGE Just as you figured out from these images, art can tell us a lot more than the content of what is pictured. Today, we will analyze Classical, Medieval, and Renaissance art and discover what their differences can tell us about these time periods.

11 Why did we learn this?  Art is often a reflection of the time period from which it is made. By studying Renaissance art, we can see how aspects of classical culture were re-born (or brought back) in art.  It is going to be on your test.  Other reasons? Relevance
