HOPE- HOPE- WHAT CHRISTIANS KNOW THAT OTHERS DO NOT KNOW. …and hope does not put us to shame… Rom 5:5
2
HOPE- WHAT CHRISTIANS KNOW Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. (Rom 5:1-5 ESV)

HOPE- WHAT CHRISTIANS KNOW Hope - ε ̓ λπις elpis (el-pece') From ε ̓ λπω elpo ̄ which is a primary word (to anticipate, usually with pleasure); expectation (abstract or concrete) or confidence: - faith, hope. The biblical definition of hope is confident expectation. What are we really saying when we say, “I hope so?” What do Christians know that gives them hope?
4
PEACE WITH GOD THEREFORE, SINCE we are justified (acquitted, declared righteous, and given a right standing with God) through faith, let us [grasp the fact that we] have [the peace of reconciliation to hold and to enjoy] peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One). Rom. 5:1 (AMP)
5
ACCESS TO GRACE And that's not all: We throw open our doors to God and discover at the same moment that he has already thrown open his door to us. We find ourselves standing where we always hoped we might stand--out in the wide open spaces of God's grace and glory, standing tall and shouting our praise. Rom 5:2 (MSG)

FORETASTE OF GLORY …through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Rom 5:2 (NIV)
7
TRANSCENDENT VIEW OF LIFE We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they are good for us -- they help us learn to endure. And endurance develops strength of character in us, and character strengthens our confident expectation of salvation. Rom 5:3-4 (NLT)

DEPOSIT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT And hope will never let us down. God has poured his love into our hearts. He did it through the Holy Spirit, whom he has given to us. Rom 5:5 (NIrV) Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. 2Co 1:21-22 (NIV)

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Rom 15:13 (NKJV)
