1 Space Probes

2 Space probes. Without them we would not have been able to land on the Moon or have nearly the information that we have on tap about any celestial body. Probes have been launched to moons, asteroids, and other planets. They have been used to place landers and sample atmospheres. Space probes are the most consistent weapon in the arsenal of any space agency. Most space probes outlive their expected usefulness. The Voyager space probes are nearing the edge of our galaxy and are still sending faint signals after 25 years of service.

3 A common strategy to propel space probes while conserving fuel is to use a planets gravity as a sling shot. Space probes have imaged or visited about half of the 166 moons in our solar system. During the Apollo 11 mission, the Russian space agency wanted to steal NASA’s glory by having a space probe on the Moon first. The two space agencies had to cooperate in order to prevent a crash in lunar orbit.Russian space agency Voyager 1 has entered an area called the heliosphere. This is an area that is well over 1 billion kilometers from the Sun. Space probes will continue to contribute to our scientific knowledge until the end of human kind. After we are able to easily travel between planets. They will be able to see between galaxies. Perhaps they will confirm the theory that there are multiple universes.
