1 Benefits for All Students in Going to 3-D Lessons In what ways is 3-D design beneficial to student learning? (SOURCE: http://www.mossent.com/blog/benefits-of-3d-experience-in-student-learning)http://www.mossent.com/blog/benefits-of-3d-experience-in-student-learning 1. Provides authentic opportunities to explore objects otherwise inaccessible to students. 2. Promotes a growth mindset by creating an environment where mistakes are an acceptable, expected and welcomed part of the design process. 3. Allows genuine experiences with the design cycle where ideas can be prototyped, tested and improved upon based on reflection and feedback. 4. Presents abstract concepts as tangible objects that can be manipulated. 5. Positions students as active creators and inventors who are in control of their own learning, rather than passive consumers of other peoples’ designs. 6. Connects students as collaborators and communicators in global networks. 7. Brings hands-on, concrete and kinesthetic elements to student learning. 8. Improves spatial awareness and thinking in STEM subjects. 9. Encourages authentic engagement in problem-solving by challenging students to think creatively and generate solutions to real-world problems. 10. Engages for students and is fun!

2 Benefits for All Students in Going to 3-D Lessons Comparison of 3-D versus non 3-D in brain activity: (SOURCE:http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Science-Proves-Watching-3D-Movies-Can-Actually-Improve-Your-Brain-71579.html) Collecting information from cognition tests and brain-reading real-time data from sample groups watching films projected in each format, their findings seem to suggest that watching 3D movies does provide a boost to the brain’s cognitive functions. In fact, in some cases, they nearly double the levels. However, according to Fagan and Walker’s research, the process allows the brain to collect extra information due to the more visceral, immediate nature of 3D viewing that heightens the audience's mental engagement in areas of the brain related to cognition. The 3D audience saw a brief 23% increase in processing abilities lasting until about 20 minutes after having watched the film, as opposed to 11% increase for the 2D audience.

3 Benefits for All Students in Going to 3-D Lessons The benefits in four main areas: (SOURCE:https://www.3dvisworld.com/features/feature-articles/2660-the-value-of-3d-to-education-and-learning.html)https://www.3dvisworld.com/features/feature-articles/2660-the-value-of-3d-to-education-and-learning.html 1. Making it easier for students to understand complex concepts 2. Introducing new topics in an engaging way 3. Helping to make the learning process more efficient and productive 4. Providing focus The consequence of this increased engagement and focus: 1. 86% of pupils improved from the pre-test to the post-test in the 3D classes, compared to only 52% who improved in the 2D classes. 2. Improved test scores by an average of 17% in the 3D classes, compared to only an 8% improvement in the 2D classes between pre-test and post-test. 3. Pupils felt strongly (84% agreed or strongly agreed) that 3D had improved their learning. 4. High levels of pupil satisfaction with 3D learning were also evident, with an 83% approval rating. 5. The post-survey of teachers revealed that 100% of teachers felt that the pupils paid more attention in 3D lessons than other lessons, and 70% of teachers noted that the pupils’ behavior had improved when using the 3D.
