2 Chinese culture is one of the most oldest and complex culture in the world. Diverse ethnic groups. Customs and traditions can vary between towns, cities and provinces. China composes 56 ethnic groups. The main language is Mandarin. 2 main religions, Taoism (Daoism) and Buddhism Hierarchical and formal social structure. Children are expected to respect their elders.

3 The 5 major stages of Societies in China. Primitive Society Slave Society Feudal Society Semi-feudal and Semi-colonial Society Socialist Society Since founding of the People’s Republic of China on October 1 st 1949, China has become a Socialist Society and become stronger and stronger.

4 Extremely rigorous curricula. Students study far more at school and home. Text books have higher standing and authority than teachers in China. Teachers follow the text book closely.

6 Believe that their children can work harder with their parents guidance. Foster more effort and hard work. Parent involvement affects the confidence level of the children. The more day to day involvement the higher their confidence level rises.
