3 An international stockfish project cooperation will create new markets for european quality food producers & strengthen regional identity, landscape and culinary heritage in Europe by reviving and protecting a world heritage food product ? Germany – google stockfisch rezepten hits 24,800 Holland – Zeeland, google stokvis recepts 5,050 France - google stockfish recettes 3,270 Italia – google recipes 1,520 There is more stockfish recipies in the North of Europe than in the South. Stockfish is a very important food in the mediterrian and there is a great potential to revive our shared stockfish world culinary heritage in N. Europe

13 Existing stockfish festivals and restaurant trails – the history is old but they are all recent culinary events/developments – great potential Badalucco – stoccafisso festival from 1972 Imperia – festival established 1984 Vicenza – festival/culinary competition from 2002 Italia – potential for festivals & Slow Food cooper. France, Valee de Lot/Mid-Pyrenees restaurant trail. Holland, Zeeland, buildings, boats & culinary potential Croatia – Istria region has rich stockfish traditions. Slovenia and/or Greece also have traditions and interest Germany – Sleswiig Holstein Hanse cities e.g. Lubeck.

14 Stockfish as an economic driver for local products and producers. Local stockfish recipies includes only > 25% fish. Highlights local products of craft & importance, e.g. appertizers, oils, vegetables, spices wine and drinks.

15 National & international stockfish revival in a cultural heritage, historic and innovative context Shared stockfish heritage guide & website for events Cooperation about food culture, exch. recipies & chefs Cooperation about the trade and building heritage. Tourism promotion, map for trade route & experiences Historic trade exhibition & exch.by regional museums School & thematic cooperation at varying educ. levels. International stockfish festival cooperation/exchanges. An (EU IV-C project) cooperation between 7 countries/regions, Norway, (Nordland/Bergen/HfK), Germany (Lubeck), Holland (Zeeland), Italia (Veneto & Liguria), France (Mid-Pyrenees), Croatia (Istria), (& region from either Spain, Macedonia, or Greece)

Priority 2 - Environment and Risk prevention. cultural heritage and landscape. ”Regional Initiatives” project – 3 years/7-8 partners.

17 Tentative costs & funding 1. Developing a written EC application for IV C. Writing the application NOK 80 000/EUR 10 000 (Funded by Norway: Nordland 30’, Bergen 25’, HfK 25’) ------------------ 2. Main project to be applied by 30. January 2009 Lead partner – Nordland County Council, together with Hordaland C.C and the City of Bergen. Tentativt partnerbudget/year gros NOK1mill/EUR 120000 Norway cost sharing i.e. 30% EU, restfunding NOK 700’: (divided between HCC 00’RUP 50’ kind, 100/50’ Bergen, 200/200’ Nordland CC.) EC regions receive 75-80% EC funding.
