The overall goal Children will be healthy, eager, and successful learners 84% of children were “ready” in Glades County, 82% of children were “ready” in Lee, and 81% each were “ready” in Collier and Hendry counties. 83% progressed from fall to spring (CCDCAS) 82% were at developmental levels (ASQ).

Supporting goal Early Learning Programs are high quality, with comprehensive services, and well- educated and competent staff Providers met some standards, but not in classroom quality. Health and vision screenings on track. Workforce study pending. 79% of trainees felt training met their needs; 95% learned something new.

Supporting goal Well-informed parents support early learners Providers report high scores for providing resources, but low scores for engagement. Parents did not choose to participate in sessions offered. Targeted programs are successful (GUWB). R&R is an effective mechanism.

Supporting goal A seamless delivery system with diverse settings Parents report not being able to get their first choice of care. Assessment by 4C pending. Other processes are meeting goals.

A firm foundation Involved citizens and collaborative community partners support early learners Community partners are engaged in delivering collaborative services. Financial support in the community has not been built.

What does it mean?

Are there other partners who can help fill the gaps? How can we help providers improve quality? How do we build community support for quality child care?
