1 Grapefruit Powered Light Jason Fox MEEN 3344

2 Instructions To start the procedure I used Zinc coated 3.5 inch nails and Copper out of a neomex electrical wire. Testing the voltage of one grapefruit gave me.78 volts and basically no amps. I linked four grape fruits in a parallel circuit and it gave me a little over 1 volt. Linking four grape fruits in a series circuit gave me 3.3 volts. I used an LED light because it only required volts. I was lacking in current and amps, so the halogen bulb didn't work. To see the bulb better i placed a black cylinder around it. Wires were cut to correct lengths and soldered to alligator clips.

3 Basic Set-up

4 The LED is lit up!
