3. 3 S CENARIO A Scenario is a file that defines the Vusers to execute, the number of users to run, the goals of the test, the computer that hosts the Vusers, and the conditions under which to run the load test. VusersScripts # of load generators Real time monitors Runtime settings

4. 4 S CENARIO T YPES In Manual Scenario the performance tester defines the Vuser groups to which are assigned a quantity of individual Vusers, Vuser scripts, and load generators to run the scripts. Facts about manual scenario:  Has control over how many Vusers to run and at what time  Allows us to start, add and stop Vusers interactively In Goal oriented Scenario the goals of the tests are defined by the tester and Loadrunner automatically builds a scenario based on these goals. Facts about goal oriented scenario:  Goal may be throughput, response time or number of Vusers  Loadrunner manages Vusers automatically  We cannot add, start and stop Vusers interactively

5. 5 S CENARIO DESIGN STEPS  In the controller console select file  new scenario  Add Vuser scripts and click OK

6. 6 S CENARIO DESIGN STEPS  Add load generators to the scenario by selecting scenario  load generators  Add button  Enter the IP/name of the load generator machine and click on OK

7. 7 S CENARIO DESIGN STEPS  Check connectivity of load generator added by clicking on Connect button to see the status as ready  Close the load generator dialog box and assign load generators to script

8. 8 S CENARIO DESIGN STEPS  Allocate Vusers to scripts  Set the run time settings for each script in the scenario
