4 Meeting labour market demands What college used to be: Colleges offered hands-on, skills-based training; and universities offered a more academic-based curriculum, training for professional careers. What college is now: Both colleges and universities offer academic learning blended with practical experience. Colleges also lead many applied research projects in many different disciplines.

5 Theory-based academics (law school, teacher’s college, Master’s degree) Industry-driven curriculum (CMA, CFP, CHRP, PEng.) Experiential learning (mandatory co-op, internships, placements) Academic and student support (advising, peer tutoring, accommodations, financial assistance, career services) What is the college experience like?

7 College admission requirements… Ontario Secondary School Diploma Grade 12 (C) credits for certificates /diplomas Six grade 12 (U/M) credits for degrees Grade averages vary by program (65% to 95%) Supplemental requirements (e.g. portfolio, audition, interview, etc.)

8 Applications begin September 28 Apply online at ontariocolleges.ca $95 fee for 5 programs (3 at any one college) Apply & pay before Feb 1 st Confirm your offer by May 1 st Application process & timelines
