2 Politics/Government  Although the population was separated into two economic classes, both levels eventually got equal rights  It was a republic/democracy, which made every man have a voice  Some conquered men got citizenship to prevent overpopulation within slaves  Poor citizens got free food from the government  At times, taxes were lowered and equality was promoted

3 Military/Economy  Participation in the military was voluntary  Everyone had to pay equal taxes  Conquered men could serve in the military or become slaves

4 Entertainment/Architecture  The Coliseum was free entertainment provided for every citizen  Roman architecture styles were balanced off with a conquered country’s usual style in defeated countries  Free bathing rooms were provided each day
