There are many people but you feel alone. You want to do what you want But your parents say when to come home. You want to be a grown-up But on the other hand you miss your childhood. You are allowed to do so many new things But there is the fear of decisions and responsibility. You laugh, you cry, you keep quiet, you want to sing. Sometimes you can’t explain what you feel. Those are problems of TEENAGES’ LIFE. Sometimes it’s really great but it also can be as hard as a knife.

It’s clear that relations may be of various types: between kids and parents or teachers, between mates or friends… And they all bring troubles! I regret to say that there is no understanding in many families. Parents are not interested in their kids’ lives and let them do anything they want. On the one hand, it’s ok as teenagers are mature enough to make their own decisions. But on the other hand, I think there should be some control in the family, because what kids do can sometimes be not just foolish but totally wrong. They start drinking or taking drugs in trying to express their protest, instead ruining their own lives. In my opinion, the most important thing for teenagers is school. In fact, school is a model of the real life, the place, where kids learn not only how to square numbers or write correctly, but how to communicate with absolutely different people. At school children have to contact with their mates and teachers and this experience is what they have when entering the grown-up world.

What Are the Main Problems the Teens Are Facing Today? Speaking about challenges in a teen’s life I’d say first that nowadays young people are facing a lot of problems, which primarily were associated with adult life. How do you feel about a teen sitting on a bench in the park drinking beer and smoking? Unfortunately, this caricature image has got into our life and the question in fact is why. I think all that smoking, drugs use and violence among youth are the ways that teens take in trying to escape from their problems. It may sound absurdly, but I believe that the most important thing, which leads young people to stress and depression is relationships. Naturally I mean all kinds of relationships not only those between boys and girls. We live in the society, not in a desert! Everyone wants people to listen to him/her and to do what he/she wants and sometimes it’s very hard to contact with the people around.

This research is devoted to Youth Problems in our class The aim of our research is to examine and analyze the main youth problems among our classmates (nine formers). It is very actual now days because a lot of teenagers can face these problems and it is very important to understand our attitude to them. Nine formers were asked and now we present the result of our research. We have looked through such problems as smoking, drugs, drinking problems and some other. We think that the drinking problem is the most actual in our village. A lot of teenagers drink beer and other alcoholic drinks almost every day. As for our classmates: -2 pupils have never had a drink of alcohol; -2 pupil tasted alcohol drinks at the age of 13-15 years old; -3 pupils tasted alcohol drinks on a holiday with friends; -1 without any reason; -2on a holiday with parents;

Family problems Another important problem is relationships with parents.. Teenagers have a difficult time relating to their families, their parents and their siblings. They don’t understand the problems of young people. It is the so-called generation gap. Generation gap is the difference in ideas, feelings and interests between older and younger people, it’s lack of understanding. The problem is that parents differ from the teenagers. They have had a different education with different norms. Generally speaking two different worlds confront each other. This sometimes leads to conflicts as if you meet people of a different nationality. Parents forgot what they did when they were young. They give advice young people too often and they treat teenagers as they are still in a nappy. Sometimes parents and children don’t talk to each other, do not share their problems, and do not express their expectations and feelings. And that’s the main reason of the conflicts in the families. Teenagers and families have problems even in the 'perfect' home setting. Though having a safe, warm home to call their own certainly helps, there is no guarantee there won't be conflicts of some kind throughout teenage years. Teenagers look for their own identity and life goals. They are busy with themselves. Parents think that their problems such as work, family life, etc. are really important and teenagers are too young to be taken seriously. This misunderstanding produces many problems. Actually, a lot of parents are indifferent to their children’s problems. And a lot of teens get upset when they can’t solve their problems. As a result the generation gap becomes wider and wider and the teen’s problems increase.

Teenager problems in Rugudja. During my work I learned and analyzed articles from magazines, newspapers, dictionaries, fiction and the Internet, I’ve come to the conclusion that in reality to be a teenager it’s not easy and maybe it’s the most difficult and strange period in our life. Because teenagers are the happiest people on the Earth, they say, but at the same time teens have much more problems that in childhood or adulthood. So, a process of becoming a teenager is very difficult. I know that most of my friends and classmates have some of these problems. After studying different information about teenagers in English – speaking countries I decided to find out some facts about adolescents in my native place and compare the results. I made a questionnaire for teenagers in Rugudja and gave it to the students of my school. Here are my questions and the answers:
