3 Japanese Education System The school system in Japan is similar to Taiwan; Japan also has cram schools. In most schools, uniforms are required. ← Japanese Cram School Japanese School Uniforms →

4 It is required to join at least one club in high school. Every September or October, each school has Sports Day, where students compete in games, races, and dances. Japanese Kendo (Sword Fighting) Club →

5 Japanese students only have March and August off, as well as other holidays. ↓ Children’s Day (5/5) The Aged Day ( 敬老の日 ) (the third Monday of September) ↓

6 American Schools Classroom sizes are between 20 and 30 students. The state decides what students learn in schools in America, but not the Ministry of Education.

7 Foreign languages offered in American Schools include: French and Spanish (most popular) and German, Chinese, Latin, Greek, and Japanese (less common).

8 School usually lasts 6 hours starting around 8:00 am and lasting until 2:00 pm. Many students stay at school for extracurricular activities and tutoring and even some students have JOBS! Extracurricular Activities : Football →

12 Asia In Japan, you cannot put the stamps upside down when you send a letter to your lover. It means breaking up. Mongolians think of water as the pure spirit. It ’ s forbidden to wash anything in the water, even your hands.

13 Koreans regard nodding head as a polite greeting. But they only do it once that they put all the respects in it. In Thailand, it is illegal to buy alcohol after 2:00 a.m. or you will be fined.

14 America and Europe A wedding proverb in the US runs, “ Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, and a silver sixpence inside your shoe. ” White roses symbolize love in Italy, but they usually mean sadness in other countries.

15 If people point their own noses, that means themselves. Women in Spain need to wear ear rings or they would be considered as if they were naked.

16 Oceania Australia is famous for its politeness; people there never speak out loud in public. In Australia, you have to buy a meal to get your alcohol in a restaurant.

17 In New Zealand, as they meet someone noble, they will touch each other ’ s noses to say good-bye. Australians and New Zealanders have strong sense of time. They usually contact first and go to the meetings on time.
