 Home audio system owners spend time setting up their speakers for the optimal audio experience, but this is rendered useless when the person moves to a different part of the room.  Engineer a solution that will provide a consistent audio experience wherever the listener is located in the room.

 Imagine it is time for spring cleaning, and you are clearing out your living room where your surround sound system is located. To make your cleaning more enjoyable you decide to start playing your favorite music. But as you move around the room cleaning, many of the sounds from speakers that are aimed toward the center of the room are drowned out by the speakers you are close to. In other words you can only hear certain channels of the song. In the end, instead of making your cleaning more enjoyable, the uneven sound just serves to annoy you.

 This patent discloses a method of localizing and tracking a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) system.  This RFID contains a reader, ID tag, sensor tag, and a data processor.  This type of sensor can be easily incorporated into our project to track the person using the sound system.

 This patent describes a system that utilizes inertial sensors that are tracked from a stationary object to navigate a cable 0r pipe system.  This system is a way to compensate for the shape of the room, as well as simplifying the data processing by using internal sensors.

 This patent describes a system for mounting a speaker on an adjustable apparatus that provides a wide range of flexibility.  This is extremely helpful in giving us an idea on how to mount our speakers for our project.

 A current 7.1 Surround sound system  Sound projected in all directions  Different channels of sound including a subwoofer

 Standard Speaker wall mount  Range of motion on all three axis with rotation  Screw and lock mechanism

 Computer Science ◦ We will need to write a program that will interpret the Kinects output signals to our speaker mounts  C or Java  Physics ◦ We will have moving parts that we will need to calculate the forces of  Coefficient of friction  Weight F=ma  Torque

 Triangulation of users ◦ We will use the programs outputs to orient the speakers in the room by using trigonometry.  Sin Cos Tan  Movement of mounts ◦ We will have to use equations to calculate the torque of the motors we use and how much we will need to rotate the speakers.
