2 This particular essay or story is like a chronicle or a diary of one day of a Muslim woman’s life. How do you feel about or what do you think about her comment “to cover or not to cover is not by battleground?” “A DAY IN THE LIFE” BY SU’AD ABDUL-KHABEER

3 Khadijah Sharif-Dinkard was an activist from a very young age, she started in high school when she got the chance to serve as the only Muslim on the youth education committee for the boroughs of New York. This experience helped her realize that she wanted to work in civil service. She eventually served on several committees and groups and got to travel all around the world advocating for women and Muslim women. Her dream is to be the first Muslim president of the United States. Do you think that Khadijah’s dream is possible? Why or why not? If yes when do you think the country would be ready and what steps do you think America needs to take to get to the point when the US could elect a Muslim president? “HIJRA FROM HARLEM” BY KHADIJAH SHARIF-DRINKARD

4 Mohja Kahf was sick of all of the ‘Islam-talk’ and she did not want to see another Muslim except for her family and herself. After this realization she is called on to help a Muslim woman who has ran away from her physically abusive husband. The battered woman Kahf is attempting to help comes from a conservative community and was not aware of her rights that Muhammad gave her in the seventh century. Though helping this woman Kahf ended up helping herself come back to what she really believed in and as she put it “I am back and kicking.” Do you agree with Kahf when she states that it is Muslim women's fault for being uneducated? Why or why not? If yes then how do you propose the Muslim community fix that problem? And should they return to their roots? “THE MUSLIM IN THE MIRROR” BY MOHJA KAHF

5 Nomani a formoer Jounalist and a single mother who had her child out of wed lock became a leader for Muslim women in America. She also wrote ‘An Islamic Bill of Rights for Women in Mosques’ and ‘An Islamic Bill of Rights for Women in the Bedroom.’ What do you think about both of her bills of rights? Do you agree? And do you think that some of them could apply to more than just Muslim women? “BEING THE LEADER I WANT TO SEE IN THE WORLD” BY ASRA Q. NOMANI
