Australia and Greece are the only countries of compete in every Olympic Games since 1896. There are gold, silver and bronze medals awarded to the athletes for 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd. Pierre de Coubertin founded the Modern Olympic Games in 1896. The Olympic Games are held every 4 years. Australia has hosted two Olympic Games. Melbourne in 1956 and Sydney in 2000. Australia’s first Team only had one athlete, Edwin Flack. The Australian Team for Rio will have 465 athletes, and 350 coaches, officials and support staff. In 2016 the Olympic Games will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. MIDDLE
