Interpreting Motion Graphically A few basics to remember… The slope of a position-time graph provides velocity information… Steeper = faster motion (position chaging at a faster rate) + slope = motion in the positive direction (positive value of velocity) - slope = motion in the negative direction (negative value of velocity)
