16 School Climate Our campus climate is a special one. Our students, parents, and staff all work hard to create a caring and loving environment at Northgate Crossing Elementary. We are a true school family who helps and supports each other in anyway that is needed. Each year the students purchase “Team TyTanium” items to support a student at Northgate whose team participates in the Houston Buddy Walk. The money collected is donate to his tem. The students get very involved and look forward to this each year. Many even participate in the walk each year. On February 11, 2013 a staff member lost her battle to cancer. Our school family came together and with donations bought a memorial bench that is outside our school. Out campus held a memorial service and many staff, parents, and students attended along with her family. Throughout the years our school family has helped staff members and students families during times in need, by providing donations, financial support, and dinners when needed. We host an annual Thanksgiving food drive as well as an annual Christmas gift drive.
