2. Effusion in lumbar facet joint is an incidentaloma during lumbar MRI and detect by MR-myelogram but should be differentiated from lateral meningocele (primary,traumatic or post surgical). Way to differentiation in axial T2 MR cuts. Facet joint effusion is about 2-3 in 1000 patients. Diagnosis of traumatic and post-surgical or primary lateral meningocele is by CT-myelography. Symptoms of facet effusion is not well evaluated from facet syndromes.
