5 The Ancient Monuments and Finds Act, 4 § (Sw. lagen 1988:950 om kulturminnen m.m., amended in 2000:265) The Code of Good Practice paragraph has the following wording: Central and local government authorities shall follow the code of good practice when handling place-name questions. This entails that: Established names shall not be changed if there are not strong reasons for doing so; The spelling of place-names shall follow established linguistic rules where there is no generally accepted, traditional spelling; New names shall not be created without taking into account the effect this may have on established names and, Swedish, Saami and Finnish names shall, as far as possible, be used together on maps and on sign posts and other signs in multi-lingual areas; Names that have been approved for use on public maps shall also be used in the approved form for other purposes.

6 The place names register  is the foundation for address names in rural areas.  prescribes the spelling of place names.  keeps so far no information on which area a name covers. (Exception administrative names.)  does not yet contain the hierarchy of names. 

12 The address register  All information produced by the municipalities.  Part of the land information register.  Connections to registered buildings and real property units are established.  Connections to other types of objects can be made if the address information is transferred to other databases or is used in applications.  Is likely to stand steady even when the new standard is introduced. But some amendments might be needed.  NLS administrator, manager or police?
