How does the Sun’s energy affect air on Earth? How does solar energy affect ocean currents? How do ocean currents affect weather and climate? What is weather? What are the variables that are used to describe weather? What drives weather patterns?

Equation Station #1 – Dice for your equation #2 – Chromebooks (finish computer lab) #3 – Balancing Equations race #4 – Balancing Act WS with partner

Show What You Know! You will construct a Bohr Model and Lewis Dot Diagram for an element of your choosing. The element must come from Periods 3-5, Groups 1A-8A Your models should look nice, and the electrons/energy levels easy to see. You can use your phones and/or the student computer to include three interesting facts about the element you’ve selected.

Post WebQuest Summary Slide Create a GoogleDocs slide or document that contains the following information: –What are three things you didn’t know about weather prior to the webquest? –What are two things you may have already known, but found interesting? –Add two or three pictures about the information you didn’t know and share it with me.

Today’s Agenda All of these assignments are individual work! I want to see what YOU can put together on your own. 1. Outer/Inner Earth Summary Page (further instructions momentarily) 2. Construct Play-Doh Boundaries (4 types, showing landforms that you will show to me one on one). 3. Finish Awesome Play-Doh Boundaries WS to summarize what you showed me with Play-Doh.

Things of Note… Suggestions: –Share a favorite thing that you learned –Do more current events/jobs related things –Do more partner/small group work –Have some time to do homework in class –Check in with me at the end of class to make sure everyone understands the info –Take more notes –More study items to help on tests –Peace and quiet/silence/less distractions/stop being noisy

STATIONs There are six stations set up around the room. You will travel the room with your partner to complete each station. On the stations where there are worksheets, you only need one worksheet per pair. You will have six minutes at each station.

Reflect Do you feel like you became an expert on your topic? Do you feel like others’ presentations allowed you to know what was going on in each of the other sections? Did you enjoy doing the chapter in this manner?

For tomorrow Google Docs are a great way to have a “group” worksheet that all of you can edit. Be prepared for your presentation; if you need to email your powerpoint to yourself, do so today. If you email it to me, email by 7:00am tomorrow If you are bringing me a hard copy, bring it to me also by 7:00am so that I can copy for the day.

Goooooooooooooooal! On the first page of your brand new spiral (because I know you didn’t forget to bring it in), write TWO things you can do better for this nine weeks and your personal average goal.
