Brief Synopsis: ● “Babe” Ruth, born as George Herman Ruth ● Born in 19th century America - (February 6, 1895) ● Died in 20th century America - (August 16, 1948) ● Lived with seven other siblings, making him 1 out of 8 ● His parents are George and Kate Ruth ● Named after his father, George senior, making him George junior. ● Began playing baseball at the age of 7 years old. ● Left-Handed

Career: ●Ruth began his baseball career at the age of 7 ●Played at St. Mary’s Industrial School for Boys in Baltimore ●Joins professional baseball at age 19, for Orioles, February 1914 ●Traded to Red Sox after first game ●Won major league debut July 11th, 1914 ●After his win he was moved to the Providence Grays ●Moved back to Red Sox in 1915 ●Traded December 26, 1919 to the NY Yankees ●1920 sets record for homeruns with a wopping 54 ●1921 breaks homerun record with 59 ●1927 breaks homerun record with 60 ●Febuary 26th 1935, traded to the Boston Braves ●Retired in 1935 ending his career with Boston

Records and Achievements Inducted into the Hall of Fame: 1936 1923 Stadium built in NY nicknamed “ The House of Ruth” 1948 Jersey “3” retired won 89 games in six years,World Series record for consecutive scoreless innings 7 American League pennants, 4 World Series titles. 714 home runs throughout his entire career including his remarkable 60 in 1927.
