3 Dario Barberis: Conclusions ATLAS Software Week - 10 December 2004 3 Many discussions this week l Feedback from CTB l Issues related to DC2 operation l Grid middleware and our production system l Software development and release plans l Software testing l Planning and scheduling methodology l New ESRAT coordination nArmin Nairz will take over as Geant4 Coordinator from January 2005 l Release schedule for 2005 l Computing Model and Resources l Some of these issues will come up for discussion again this afternoon in the CMB/SPMB meeting

4 Dario Barberis: Conclusions ATLAS Software Week - 10 December 2004 4 Format of the Software & Computing week l A few main sessions and several shorter “working group” meetings nup to 3 parallel sessions l Some main “tracks”: nSimulation, Reconstruction, EDM, PESA, Physics Analysis Tools nData Challenges, Production System, Grid Middleware nCore Software, Infrastructure, Data Management nComputing Model, ICB l Question 1: ndo people like it this way?  please give us feedback before we start organizing next s/w week l Question 2: nwhere do we place tutorials?  in s/w week in parallel with everything else  near s/w week with week-end in-between (people travel once)  far from s/w week (people travel twice)

5 Dario Barberis: Conclusions ATLAS Software Week - 10 December 2004 5 Software & Computing Weeks in 2005 l 21-25 February at CERN njust after the ATLAS Week l 23-27 May at CERN n2 weeks before the Rome Physics Workshop l 26-30 September at CERN njust before the ATLAS Overview Week in Paris l 5-9 December at LAL Orsay

6 Dario Barberis: Conclusions ATLAS Software Week - 10 December 2004 6 Finally... A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all !!!
