2. INTRODUCTION Without resurrection, there is no Christianity. The path to resurrection is the Cross. One of His own betrayed Him. The spirit of betrayal or bitterness was from before time and will end in the age to come.

3. GENESIS 3:15 “And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”

4. THE ENEMY WITHIN A battle from heaven. (Lk 10:18) Displayed in Eden. (Gen 3:1-24) Continued in Cain and Able. (Gen 4:1-12) Massah and Meribah. (Ex 17:1-7) The bronze snake. (Nu 21:4-9) Balak and Balaam. (Nu 22) Judas.

5. CROSS BEFORE RESURRECTION Lk 9:23, “Then he said to them all: Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.” Heb 12:15, “See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.”

6. PRACTICAL APPLICATION Matt 5:11-12, “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”

7. RESURRECTION 1 Cor 2:8, “None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.” Gal 2:20, “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”

8. CONCLUSION Rom 6:8, “Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him.” Phil 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Rom 8:37, “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”
