Data values increases with time and spatial coverage Maintaining Flexibility: emerging scientific questions should be addressed in timely manner – Also valid for environmental crisis Seamless access from all European countries all cloud services accessible and available in all European countries, support should be available in all countries and languages,

13 H2020 ProjectProject Number: 654182 Requirements of ENVRIs for Open Science Cloud A clear and stable business model Building on external services requires a clear information on the costs to enable comparisons of different solutions (in-house vs EOSC). The potential to reduce IT expenditure is high. Nevertheless; the business model of the EOSC should clearly show how will be beneficial for the RIs. Ideally, the services of the EOSC should be provided for free to the RIs since they are already paid by public money.

Not all RIs have reached the proper level of maturity to define their operational data management needs and outsourcing potential But ENVRI may trigger some evolution if A well-designed and attractive business model for the EOSC is provided with clear cost/benefits analysis
