19 In Seattle, many of us love our lattes. Some of us have two, three, four a day At $2.51 each for two a day, that is more than $1800 a year in lattes. That is quite a habit. Financial advisors will tell you that if you only would give up a latte a day, you could be set in retirement. If you are paying $5 a day on coffee and you are 25 years old, and you put that money in a 401(k) plan, you could very well be a millionaire by the time you are 65 But give up on fancy drinks, not a chance. So if it lattes you love, find something else you spend money on that don’t enjoy as much: club dues, eating out, whatever. I would bet you could find something or a combination of things that would create $5 a day.
