2 Using Adobe Acrobat What is a.PDF Document.PDF stands for Portable Document Format.PDF documents can be read on any computer using any operating system Unlike other software formats in that if you don’t have the software, such as Microsoft Word or PowerPoint, you cannot open a document that was created in that software

3 Using Adobe Acrobat Tips about Adobe Acrobat Adobe Acrobat uses a virtual printer to create documents If you look at your printers (Start > Printers and Faxes) you will see one titled “Adobe PDF”  DO NOT delete this printer Since we have Adobe Acrobat installed, never install the Adobe Reader software This is sometimes an option with other software packages that contain documents in.PDF format  Uncheck the option to load ANY version of Adobe Reader
