3 Istituto Comprensivo “D. Matteucci” – Faenza Centro Primary School Tolosano Kindergarten Il Girasole Kindergarten Giardino dei Sogni Primary School Pirazzini Our school is divided into 5 buildings: Secondary school Cova-Lanzoni, Primary Schools Tolosano and Pirazzini, Kindergartens Il Girasole and Giardino dei Sogni and is located in the city center of Faenza. Our pupils have very different cultural and economic backgrounds. In the last years the number of migrant children attending our classes has strongly increased (currently more than 30% are not Italian), posing to the teachers a new challenge. We activated specific language laboratories and intercultural projects with the support of local and non-local institutions, fostering a higher cultural cohesion and guaranteeing to the majority of foreign students the fulfillment of their educational duty. Our school differentiates itself for the consistent participation in projects and contests, many of them intercultural and related to art, and for the activities aimed at integrating children with special needs. Moreover it started a collaboration with the Education Department of the University of Bologna offering training projects for future teachers.
