3. Representatives today. Representing the Parliament today are:- Aidan - Park Primary School Harry - Salterforth Primary School Sarah - Castercliff Primary School Zain - St. Philip’s Primary School

4. Competition for Logo We held a competition to choose a logo for our Pupil Parliament

5. Amber-Leigh’s Logo Park Primary School held a competition to design a logo for the Pupil Parliament. Amber-Leigh’s design won the competition in school and won the vote of the members of the Parliament. The design is being used on our badges.

6. Sarah’s Logo Sarah’s logo was runner-up in the Pupil Parliament Competition and Is being used for our letter heading.

9. Eco- Schools Several of the schools have been working towards the becoming Eco schools and and the Parliament has given us the chance to share our ideas and debate how we move forward.

10. Eco Friendly Schools At Castercliff we collected Morrisons ‘Lets Grow’ vouchers with which we were able to buy our greenhouse. We have discussed Eco issues with other schools in the Pupil Parliament.

11. Barrowford Improve the playground area by: Removing the graffiti. Removing and preventing any litter.

12. Action - Graffiti Posters to show how proud we are of our school. Speak to site supervisor about getting rid of graffiti. Make people aware of CCTV cameras. Keep gates locked.

15. Salterforth Hello, I am one of the representatives of Salterforth Primary School Pendle Pupil Parliament. Later on in the slides I will show you what we have done so far. This is a picture of me when I got voted in.

16. What we have done so far… First we attended the Pendle Pupil Parliament meeting at: Nelson Town Hall Then we discussed what our biggest issue was in the local area and our school thought it was dog fouling… After that we sent out surveys to local residents asking for their thoughts and opinions on Dog Fouling

17. Andrew Stephenson. We wrote a letter to Andrew Stephenson our local MP telling him our concerns and our statistics. We read the letter in front of him at one of the Pendle Pupil Parliament meetings. He and David Alexander, Senior Environmental Crime Officer, liked it so much that they came into our school to talk to us about their jobs and our concerns. The local press came along too! Councillor Michael Blomeley said “I will use your statistics and please email me them.”

18. What we hope to do in the future… We will try our very best to solve the problem of: Anti-social Behaviour in and around schools and parks. Talk to teenagers at the local high school, West Craven, about what they would like in parks so they don’t ruin our facilities! We will also try and stop the littering in parks. And try to convince the council to help us further.

19. Follow up work Since our last Parliament schools with similar issues Have been working together to see if they can make further improvements. Christchurch, Park and Salterforth Primary schools and West Craven High School are planning to set up a “Focus Group” to look at the problems in parks and how these can be solved.

20. Our Visit to London We shall visit the houses of Parliament Go to the Theatre Stay overnight Have a tour around London Visit a museum In March we shall visit London to see where our national parliament works.

21. Our Visit to the Children’s Trust Today we hope:- We have given you some information about our Pendle Pupil Parliament. We have given you an insight into what we want to do. We have shown you that we can achieve a lot when we work together We hope that you will be able to help us achieve our Pupil Parliament’s aim to improve some of the local issues that concern us.
