13 13Deutsche Bahn AG, S-Bahn Munich, Christoph Dahlmann, 10.11.2009 S-Bahn Munich revenues are dependent on two pillars – ordered services market and passenger market Public service contract between Free State of Bavaria and S-Bahn Munich in force until 2017 Bavarian government orders services from S-Bahn in defined quantity and quality Ordering party pays a fee for each train-kilometre ordered and provided Penalties payable for insufficient quality (monthly/annual target values) Deductions for non-performed train- kilometres (e.g. construction work, disruptions etc.) Revenue shares from ticket sales in the transport association fare area Apportionment of revenues is currently based on a key agreed between the transport association members (S-Bahn, underground, regional buses etc.) In future, revenues apportioned on the basis of a flexible, performance- based key: number of passengers and passenger-kilometres S-Bahn Munich revenues Ordered services marketPassenger market
