Building a safe and fun playground is important. It gives kids the chance to explore, play games, and have fun. It can be difficult to build a playground since there are so many parts. It needs variety in different surfaces. A good playground gives kids the space for movement, allows them to build, and it allows them to think. So it is important to include sandboxes, parts that move, and places to climb. There should be an area for people to ride bikes. There should also be an area to play with balls. And of course there should be grass to run in. Swings and slides can go in the grass or on sand. The important thing is that a playground is built to be safe.

To do this, I’ll think about something related to the topic (playgrounds) and the point (it’s important that they are fun and safe). Now, I’m going to build two questions that might “ ” my readers.

Have you ever needed a place to run around and blow off some steam? What about a place to just sit and think? Playgrounds provide a place to do both.

Help me create another introduction.  Question 1  Question 2  Main idea (topic + the point) statement. Do you have a place in your neighborhood that’s just for kids? Is there a place near your house where friends meet to play? Playgrounds are great places for kids to run, jump, and play safely.

Now you’ll build an introduction using a different text.

Building a safe and fun swimming pool is important. There are three different types of pools. There are concrete pools, vinyl lined pools, and fiberglass pools. Concrete pools can be built to form any size. Concrete pools take a longer time to create. They can take up to 12 weeks. But this may be worth it because they are the strongest type of pool. A vinyl pool can be punctured by a sharp object. If you build a vinyl pool, make sure to choose a thick vinyl. This type of pool can take three weeks to build. Fiberglass pools do not use chemicals. They also do not stain. These pools are molded and shipped by a truck. Sometimes they use a crane to lift it over a backyard fence – or even over a house! The filtration system, the water to fill up the pool, lights in the pool, and stone design around the pool, all cost money. These should all be considered. One thing is for sure, though, pools of any kind provide lots of fun.

Write an introduction paragraph for the task: Write an essay explaining the different types of swimming pools. Underline the two questions in blue. Underline the main idea statement in red.
