8. 5. Conclusion Digital Agenda for Europe addresses eGovernment, Single Market, Electronic Identification and Trusted Services. EU Commission is on the way to regulate eID along cross border services. End of CY 2013 in Europe 18 States issue eID-Cards. This is the highest number in one continent. End of CY 2013 around 150 Million eIDs are in the field. This captures 30% of the total population of 500 Million citizens. The oldest program started in 1998. The youngest program started in the 2nd Half of 2013 (over 16 years of knowledge on eID). EU Commission and Member States spend more than €100 Million for technical interoperability along eID, eHealth, eSignature and eServices
