Iran’s Christmas Iran, formerly Persia, is a land where 3 wise men are believed to have lived when Jesus Christ was born. the 6 weeks preceding Easter. Gifts are not normally exchanged but children get new clothing which they wear proudly on Christmas Day.

Traditional Christmas Feasts in Iran Today Christians in Iran begin feasting from animal products on December 1 st. This is called "Little Feast." "Big Feast" occurs during Lent, the six weeks preceding Easter. After Church service of December 25 they enjoy Christmas dinner which they call "Little Feast." The traditional dish is a chicken stew called harasa.
