Attend Open Days, meet alumni if you’re in Europe Prepare rough draft of your personal statement Research requirements, conditional offers for schools Sign up and study for UKCAT, BMAT, LNAT, TSA other entrance tests if you will be taking them.

Attend open days, visit schools at Toussaint Prepare list of 8 choices max (global) Write and revise personal statement

5. Timeline: Nov – Jan. 2016/17 Dec 1st: Deadline for all materials for Jan. 15th apps. Dec. Interviews for Oxford, Cambridge Bring in 1st tri. bulletin, discuss predicted grades. Finalize list of schools, review requirements carefully Jan. 15: Deadline for equal consideration Rolling admissions – the earlier you apply, the sooner you head from your schools Review subjects for possible interviews-Imperial etc … Offers by March 31, decision by 1st week in May. Choose first and ‘insurance’ offer.

6. What Makes a Strong Application? A convincing school report that can attest to your demonstrated interest in the subject and provides evidence for predicted grades and aptitude for autonomous university level work in English. A well-written, detailed personal statement that persuasively shows your strong motivation and knowledge of the subject. ¾ focused on academics. They are not looking to get to know you as a person. Only about 10% of statements and reports play a role. Many schools barely read them for most courses …
