1 Dr Diane Aston, Education Co-ordinator

2 SAS re-launched in Sept 2010 May benefits remain unchanged but new ones introduced: – Materials discovery boxes – 10 boxes being trialled in the summer term and available to all members from Septemeber 2011. – SAS microsite with members only area – On-line access to journals and magazines – List of willing speakers Presentation still available as an optional extra, incurring an additional charge

3 Could you be a willing speaker? Looking for members that would be willing to go in to schools to give talks. Registered as STEM Ambassadors through STEMNET. Given some basic training and access to presentations. Schools contact potential speakers through website. Watch MW and website for details of how to register interest and date of first briefing day.

4 SAS membership As of the beginning of March the Scheme had 295 members of which 66 were sponsored. Sponsorship of individual schools is not the best way to utilise resources. Proposal has been tabled to make basic membership of the scheme free with charges made for optional extras such as borrowing a box, attending a conference, having a visit.
