5 Educate home owners/buyers on attainable housing options, low cost services & energy savings/incentives; Partner to preserve/improve community assets: South Summit Park & the Coalville Senior Center; Focus on home health & safety – supporting aging in place, family and community health; Lower operating costs for home owners - Green building practices (LEED Platinum Certified & ENERGY STAR homes) & weatherization services for low to moderate income home owners save $$; The ReStore keeps 270 tons of materials out of local landfills annually, provides a low-cost source of home goods & construction materials to the community + tax credits for donors. Habitat’s Programs Support Sustainability in our Communities

6 Each Habitat project impacts the local economy by a factor of 7. For example, a $250,000 new home generates more that 1.5 million through jobs, materials purchases, workers supporting local businesses, etc…*; Zero interest loans support the local workforce. Affordable loans give people more income to invest in healthcare, nutritious foods, retirement, and recreational activities; Mortgage & loan repayments are reinvested into our community through the Fund for Humanity…..Habitat’s pay-it-forward model; The ReStore creates jobs and revenues help support Habitat’s Program Services; Partnership model leverages partners’ assets with Habitat’s assets to meet community needs and aspirations. More needs met….lower cost. Habitat’s Programs Support Economic Development in our Communities *Factor utilized by developers & Chambers of Commerce to calculate economic impact

8 Community Needs Data (1/2) 8 650+ Affordable units to be developed through inclusionary zoning. Home ownership units will need educated & ready buyers who understand deed restrictions, rights, responsibilities & can qualify for mortgage loans; 3400+ Cost Burdened Households in Summit County (50% or greater of income required to maintain home ownership & operating costs); 65% growth in senior citizen demographic by 2020. Aging in place trend. More seniors needing support services; Homes with failing septic systems. Habitat collaborating with Health Dept. to address this critical need.

9 Community Needs Data (2/2) 9 200 home, 18 month wait list for Utah State Weatherization grant program; 0 homes served by the Utah State Home Rehab program in 13 years until Habitat’s 2014 partnership. Currently completing pilot partnership weatherization project in Summit Park; High Level Deferred Maintenance: 2014 Coalville Roof-Top Housing Study performed by Habitat in partnership with NCCC AmeriCorps: 205 homes surveyed 33 homes need roof repairs 30 homes need wall/siding repairs 38 homes need wall and trim paint 156 homes need yard clean-up/maintenance to reduce fire risk and improve safety
