3 ETDs in India Theses and dissertations contribute considerably to the scholarly knowledge bank and constitute a pivotal segment of research literature. There are 42 Central Universities, 243 state Universities, 53 state private universities, 130 deemed universities, 33 institutions of national importance, established under the act of Parliament and five institutions, established under various state legislations. The number of colleges, across the country, in 2011 was 30,000+ More than 11,000 doctoral theses are awarded to the students every year. The report of the Working Group on Libraries has recommended that ETDs be set up across the country. Consequently concerted efforts are being made nationwide by the universities to set up and maintain ETDs. ETDs ensure access to knowledge and learning and can transfer India’s potential for development, lift young Indians to new levels of understanding and competencies and make India one of the leading knowledge societies in the word.

10 Conference Venue The event will be organized at Convention Centre at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi-110067 (India). Conference Rooms: JNU Convention Centre is having two Auditoriums, three Lecture Halls, and one Committee Room with multimedia technology and Internet Wi Fi. These auditoriums and halls have the following capacity: Auditorium I-372 people Auditorium II-322 people Lecture Hall I-120 people Lecture Hall II-120 people Lecture Hall III -120 people Committee Room-100 people

15 Weather in New Delhi from 25 degree C to 31 degree C. Winters set in during the last week of November. This time of the year is very pleasant for sight-seeing.

16 Access and Transport Indira Gandhi International airport is 15 kms away from the campus. Terminal 3 is a two-tier building, with the bottom floor being the arrivals area, and the top being a departures area. Indira Gandhi International Airport Terminal 3 is the world's eighth largest passenger terminal. Indira Gandhi Terminal 3 has a capacity to handle 34 million passengers annually. T3 has India's first automated parking management & guidance system in a multi level car park, which comprises 7 levels and a capacity of 4300 cars. Terminal 3 will form the first phase of the airport expansion in which a 'U' shaped building will be developed in a modular manner.

23 Red Fort RED FORT: This massive fort was built by the great Mughal emperor, Shahjahan, who also gave the world the Taj Mahal.

24 Humyun tomb HUMAYUN TOMB: This tomb was built by Mughal Emperor Humanyun's wife Hamida Banu Begum. The combination of white marble and red sand stone was a great influence on later Mughal architecture

26 AKSHARDHAM TEMPLE Akshardham Temple Monument to World Peace is located at the mega Akshardham temple complex in New Delhi. The temple which depicts the Hindu mythology and Indian culture promises to attract lakhs of tourists’ every year with its religious tourism. Build over an area of 100 acres on the banks of the Yamuna River.
