14 THE MACHINE PLATINO’s structure is open and the work volume is fully accessible. The cantilever arm, on which the laser head is installed, leaves the work volume free and accessible from 3 sides. The manual loading/ unloading of the pieces is easy and comfortable, either from the front or from the side of the machine.

15 THE MACHINE Equipped with pallet for supporting 2D workpieces.
Complete with trays for collecting scraps, on wheels for easy handling. Divided into sectors with separate suction, allowing the optimization of the fumes exhausting in the area where the process takes place.

17 THE LASER HEAD Main features:
The laser head is a great element of versatility. Main features: capacitive sensor focal-axis 5”, 7.5” and 10” lens (optional) rapid lens change capability Safe Impact Protection System

18 THE LASER HEAD The F-axis is a NC-axis which automatically adjusts the lens position to set the correct focus according to material and thickness of the piece to be cut: cutting and piercing of different materials and thickness without manual adjustment of the focal position, automatically set according to a data base; accurate control of the cutting process in the whole work area.

19 THE LASER HEAD Quick change of the lens: from 5” to 7.5” in few seconds. No need to change the whole head. A highly convenient “drawer-type” system enables the quick change of the lens from 5” to 7.5”or to 10”(*) focal length and vice-versa. No manual adjustment is necessary, since the lenses are pre-centered. 20 THE LASER HEAD SIPS (“Safe Impact Protection System”)
In case of impact, the head disengages to avoid damages caused by crashes. Reference pins and magnets allow a quick and accurate repositioning of the head. SIPS BENEFITS: ELIMINATION OF CRASH–RELATED MACHINE DOWNTIME ELIMINATION OF EXPENSIVE REPAIR ON THE HEAD

21 THE LASER Depending on the application, PLATINO can be provided with CO2 lasers with power ratings ranging from 2500 W to 5000 W. All the laser models from the CP and CV laser series by PRIMA are fitted on the machine base and form a stable part of its structure. All feature high versatility and efficiency and low running costs.

27 THE CNC Focus Finder through LPM sensor allows to detect the right focal position point in a total automatic way. The machine is commanded by a specific program: when the right focal point is defined, the focal axis is automatically moved to the right position and the operator has only to push the specific button in order to save the new focal position. Very fast procedure No more mistakes due to operator interpretation Very high accuracy (better than 0.1mm)

29 THE CNC The measuring software allows taking highly accurate references on the sheet metal thanks to the capacitive sensor. If the sheet position is different from the theoretical one, the part program must be adapted to the real position. Thanks to this software, by measuring 3 points on the sheet, the values for the rototranslation of the part-program are automatically calculated.

32 MAIN OPTIONS Quick Piercing
This option allows the execution of piercing with very high powers and therefore extremely reduced times. It consists of: an oil spray device a compressed air blow device The oil film prevents the adhesion of incandescent material to the surface around the piercing hole. The air blow expells the slag from the area immediately after piercing has been executed.

MAIN OPTIONS LPM - Laser Piercing Monitor The LPM option allows to automatically minimize the piercing time. In particular: it keeps the piercing process under control, by modulating the frequency and the duty cycle. This allows the use of high power parameters. it immediately stops the piercing process when the material has been perforated. Benefits of the LPM reduction of piercing time no expert Operator necessary: the best piercing parameters are automatically calculated the piercing is less violent: no damages to the lens caused by incandescent sprinkles produced during the process

35 Plasma Monitoring and Automatic Restart
MAIN OPTIONS Plasma Monitoring and Automatic Restart The LPM can be used as a plasma detector as well, specially in case of Nitrogen cutting (stainless steel and aluminium alloys). In this case the LPM can detect possible problems during the cutting process. Thanks to this information, with the Automatic Restart function it is possible to stop the cutting and restart it with different parameters. PLASMA MONITORING PROBLEMS DURING THE PROCESS The automatic restart is enabled through a soft key of the MMI PLASMA GENERATION PLASMA SENSED BY LPM with an intensity and for a period of time (preset) ERROR SIGNALLED TO CNC
