20 Program Apartments Located in the Trastevere area of Rome Within walking distance of studio Apartments for 6-8 students Fully appointed kitchens 2 bathrooms with towels 2-3 bedrooms with bedclothes, pillows Washing machine (no dryers in Italy!) Wireless internet and TV

30 Costs U-bill expenses include: Program fee Program activities in Rome, faculty support, and CISI medical/evacuation insurance ISU tuition (resident or non-resident) ISU fees Housing Utilities/damages escrow

31 Costs Out-of-pocket expenses include: Round-trip airfare Passport Photographs for applications Local ground transportation Meals Residency permit Key deposits Course materials, books, photocopying Incidentals

32 Estimated Total Costs Resident students: $17,000 to $18,000 Non-resident students: $23,000 to $24,000 Financial aid packages can be applied to cover the costs of the program Financial need for the fall is based on the numbers above, not the need you would have if you were taking classes in Ames for the semester A more detailed budget will be made available in spring 2013

36 Requirements Students interested in participating should… Plan to spend the fall 2013 semester in Rome Be prepared to take at least 12 credit hours Be at least 18 years old Have a 2.3 cumulative GPA Be accepted into your program of study Not be on academic probation or academic warning in spring 2013 or summer 2013 If you don’t meet a requirement and you are interested in the program, please e-mail me (efrench@)

37 Preparation Class To participate in the fall 2013 Rome Program, you must register in AccessPlus for the following class that is offered in spring 2013: Dsn S 301 Mondays 6:00-6:50 p.m. 1 credit 101 Design

38 Optional Preparation The Rome Program also offers an optional Italian language and culture workshop Mondays and Wednesdays 5:10-6:00 p.m. 12 weeks in spring 2013 Room 416 Presented by Rebecca Severin Enrollment advertisement later this fall (not available for registration in AccessPlus)
